A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Attorney in Houston, Texas. This role involves a balanced practice, dedicating at least 50% of the attorney's time to personal injury litigation and the remainder to commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex disputes in both commercial and personal injury contexts.

Duties

• Represent clients as lead counsel in legal proceedings, including depositions and court hearings.
• Manage complex commercial litigation and personal injury litigation matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client matters.
• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on litigation strategy and risk management.
• Engage in settlement negotiations to achieve favorable resolutions.
• Collaborate with attorneys, staff, clients, and experts on litigation strategies.
• Oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery and trial preparation.
• Maintain accurate time records and ensure timely client invoicing.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas bar membership in good standing.
• 2-4 years of experience in commercial and/or personal injury litigation.
• Experience with depositions and courtroom advocacy.
• Proficiency in evidentiary and legal argument, including direct- and cross-examination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex legal matters with professionalism.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with trial preparation and managing high-stakes litigation.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Texas bar membership in good standing.
