1st Party Litigator

Profile

A law firm in Gainesville, FL is seeking a 1st Party Litigator. The Litigator will handle a significant caseload from inception to post-trial, attending various legal proceedings, preparing litigation documents, and maintaining client communication. They must possess strong advocacy skills, legal expertise, and technological proficiency.

Duties:

• Manage a substantial caseload from start to finish
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other legal documents
• Provide timely reports to insurance carriers and clients on case status
• Cultivate client relationships through effective communication and relationship-building strategies
• Travel to different courthouses and locations as necessary
• Fulfill monthly billing requirements
• Maintain a professional demeanor in the office environment
• Demonstrate expertise in first-party property claims and/or PIP litigation
• Utilize knowledge of all litigation phases from pleadings to trial
• Conduct depositions effectively
• Exhibit strong oral advocacy and writing skills
• Evaluate cases accurately
• Hold a Good Standing Membership with the Florida Bar
• Possess familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Display confidence in using process management systems and leveraging available technology and automation tools

Requirements:

1-3+ years of experience in first-party property or PIP defense litigation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Good Standing Membership with the Florida Bar
