Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Austin, TX, to represent clients in family and school-law cases. The role involves handling divorce, custody, and education-related disputes, providing legal advice, and advocating in court. The attorney will work closely with the legal team to ensure successful client outcomes while maintaining honesty and transparency.

Duties

• Serve as the first point of contact with clients on your docket
• Manage family law cases from intake to resolution
• Draft and review pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents
• Prepare witnesses and clients for hearings and trials
• Conduct hearings and trials (first chair)
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure clarity and trust
• Collaborate with supervising attorneys and paralegals
• Document case progress in line with firm procedures
• Participate in marketing and networking events as needed
• Conduct initial consultations

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year practicing Family Law (preferred)
• Active Texas State Bar License

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Certifications

• Texas State Bar License
