Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Jefferson City is seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions, including matters involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.

Job Details:

• Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission.
• Experience with matters involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
• Advocate before state utility commissions, focusing on power transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
• Demonstrate strong academic credentials and a superior academic record.
• Work collaboratively with a team and exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
• Effectively manage multiple projects and articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
• Maintain an active Bar license in the state.
• Provide legal expertise in energy regulatory matters.
• Handle compliance matters before state energy regulatory commissions.
• Advocate for clients in power transactions and related matters.
• Collaborate with a team on various legal projects.
• Manage multiple projects with superior judgment.

Requirements:

Active Bar license in the state.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

Skills:

• Expertise in regulatory and compliance matters before state energy regulatory commissions.
• Advocacy experience before state utility commissions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team.
• Superior judgment in legal matters.
• Effective project management skills.
• Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

Certifications:

Active Bar license in the state.
