Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Plano, Texas. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage default law and excellent litigation skills. This full-time position involves representing clients in legal proceedings across Texas, providing expert legal advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties

• Obtain judicial foreclosure judgments in state and federal courts.
• Resolve mortgage defaults involving deceased borrowers in district and probate courts.
• Handle contested eviction matters, including appeals in state courts.
• Manage defensive litigation through trial for alleged statutory violations.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients to ensure legal compliance.

Requirements

• Experience handling mortgage default matters.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas state courts.
• Admission to federal courts in Texas preferred.
• Courtroom experience required; trial experience preferred.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to seek guidance when necessary.
• Experience with CaseAware case management system.
• Experience with client portals such as BKFS/LPS and Tempo.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
