Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Investigations and Regulatory practice in Washington, D.C. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in white-collar enforcement, internal investigations, and complex regulatory issues. The successful candidate will provide counsel to multinational corporations and senior executives on legal and regulatory challenges, including government investigations and compliance risks.

Duties

  • Conduct and manage internal investigations involving fraud, bribery, AML, and sanctions violations.
  • Represent clients in government-facing investigations and enforcement actions.
  • Assist clients in responding to subpoenas and regulatory inquiries.
  • Prepare legal analyses and investigative reports on complex matters.
  • Advise on risk mitigation, compliance programs, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support clients in administrative proceedings and litigation arising from enforcement actions.
  • Counsel on evolving risks related to sanctions, financial crimes, and anti-corruption laws.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in Washington, D.C.
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in white-collar investigations or regulatory enforcement.
  • Experience handling internal investigations and enforcement matters.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to manage complex matters independently with sophisticated clients.

Preferred Experience

  • Advising on AML, sanctions, anti-corruption, fraud, or financial regulatory matters.
  • Experience with federal enforcement authorities or regulatory agencies.
  • Advising multinational corporations on compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serving clients in industries such as financial services, consumer products, energy, or technology.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in Washington, D.C.

Skills

  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex matters independently.
  • Experience with sophisticated clients.
