Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, specifically removal defense matters

  • Prepare and submit habeas corpus petitions and federal writs addressing unlawful detentions or agency misconduct

  • Appear in federal district and appellate courts on behalf of clients

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft briefs, motions, and supporting documentation

  • Maintain a personal caseload with minimal oversight

  • Collaborate effectively with legal support staff and fellow attorneys

  • Deliver empathetic, client-centered representation

  • Monitor and interpret updates in immigration law and federal litigation policy

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in immigration litigation, removal defense, and federal court practice

  • Demonstrated success in handling habeas petitions and related federal filings

  • Strong advocacy skills, both written and oral

  • Passion for immigrant rights and commitment to social justice

  • Capable of managing multiple legal matters simultaneously

  • Proficiency in legal case management systems (preferred)

  • Spanish language skills (preferred)

  • Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing

  • Federal litigation and appellate advocacy

  • Bilingual communication (preferred)
