A distinguished Wisconsin-based law firm is seeking a Municipal and School Law Attorney to represent and advise public sector clients, including municipalities and school districts, on a wide range of legal issues. Location:

• Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to municipalities and school districts on governance, regulatory compliance, and statutory obligations

• Draft and review ordinances, policies, and legal agreements

• Attend and advise at school board and municipal meetings

• Represent public entities in administrative proceedings and litigation

• Advise on employment, land use, open records/open meetings, and related legal matters

• Assist with contract negotiation and review for public projects and intergovernmental agreements

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, ideally in municipal or school law

• Familiarity with Wisconsin public sector statutes and administrative processes

• Ability to manage a wide range of legal issues for local government entities

• Experience with public meetings, board advisement, and compliance work preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar (in good standing)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical capabilities

• Effective communicator with experience advising governing bodies

• Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously

• Detail-oriented with sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills
