Responsibilities will include drafting and reviewing construction contracts, assisting with bid preparations, and resolving disputes related to capital projects. Location:

• East Syracuse, NY

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to school district and BOCES clients on capital construction projects.
• Draft and review contracts, including architect and construction management contracts.
• Assist in the preparation of bid documents and provide guidance on bid awards.
• Oversee construction administration and project close-out.
• Resolve disputes arising from capital projects.
• Work closely with clients to ensure compliance with construction law and regulations.

Requirements:

• Member of the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction law.
• Familiarity with AIA Contract Documents.
• Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively advocate for clients in construction matters.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal practice.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active attorney license in New York.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of construction law and contract documents.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong client communication and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to handle complex construction disputes and legal issues.
