Chief Intellectual Property Counsel – Performance Materials and Technologies
The candidate will define and execute our intellectual property strategy as the lead legal advisor for all IP matters. Manage our IP function by leading a global team and defining and deploying a robust execution model with transparency through operational KPIs and metrics. Nurture a robust pipeline of innovative and differentiated ideas that can be converted into IP through training, IP workouts/brainstorming, integration into the product development process, and rewards and recognition programs. Develop and maintain a high-quality and relevant IP portfolio (patents and trade secrets) to protect our technology differentiation across all of our business units. Execute complex global commercial IP transactions including deal structuring, drafting, and negotiation across a range of areas including software, hardware, services, strategic partnerships, JVs, and M&A (including IP diligence and integration of acquisition targets). Deploy and manage our trade secret protection program including source code protection and 3rd party information sharing and protection. Manage IP disputes and litigation. Drive revenue-generating opportunities through IP assertation opportunities and licensing. Must have a BS degree and JD degree; Registered to practice before at least one state bar and the USPTO; 2 years of patent prosecution experience as a patent attorney; 7 years of legal experience directed to patent prosecution, intellectual property transactions, and/or IP litigation. Must be a US citizen due to handling export control information.
