Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Commercial Litigation Attorney in Lake Success, New York. This position is for an experienced attorney capable of independently managing complex litigation matters while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced legal practice.

Duties

• Manage commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions and appear in court proceedings.
• Oversee all aspects of discovery, including document review and strategy.
• Handle arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal advice.
• Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation.
• Assist with hearings and trials.
• Supervise junior attorneys and support staff as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish.
• Strong experience with motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active admission to the New York State Bar; New Jersey admission is a plus.
