Litigator/Associate Attorney

A law firm in Westbury is seeking a motivated Litigator/Associate Attorney to represent plaintiffs in trials. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of litigation experience, including expertise in oral arguments, settlement negotiations, and mediations. The role requires a highly organized individual who can work independently and proactively to resolve matters while adapting to changing practices and policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent plaintiffs in trials, advocating effectively in court.
• Draft, file, and argue motions; prepare and present oral arguments.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and participate in mediations.
• Manage case files independently, ensuring timely progress and resolution.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement case strategies.
• Adapt to evolving policies, procedures, and legal practices.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing litigation.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
• Proactively bring matters to resolution, ensuring all aspects of the case are addressed.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably representing plaintiffs.
• Experience with oral arguments, settlement negotiations, and mediations is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and proactively manage cases.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the relevant state (not specified, but implied).
