Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in New York City is seeking a driven mid-level associate with substantial experience in structured finance and securitization. This position involves working on novel and sophisticated financial transactions, including asset-backed securitizations and cross-border finance matters. Duties:

• Manage and execute structured finance transactions, including securitizations, asset-backed financings, and esoteric asset structures

• Draft, review, and negotiate key deal documents, ensuring legal and commercial alignment

• Advise clients on legal and regulatory issues impacting financial transactions

• Coordinate with internal teams across regulatory, tax, finance, and IP to deliver integrated legal solutions

• Act as a primary point of contact with clients and contribute to relationship management

• Support the development of innovative transaction structures involving new asset classes

• Participate in strategic deal planning and provide ongoing guidance throughout the transaction lifecycle

Requirements:

• 4+ years of law firm or in-house legal experience focused on securitization or structured finance

• Demonstrated ability to handle complex transactional work with minimal supervision

• Prior exposure to esoteric or novel financing products is strongly preferred

• Capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines

• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and client service orientation

• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD), LLM, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility for admission)

• In good standing with applicable legal licensing authorities

Skills:

• Superior drafting, structuring, and negotiation abilities

• High-level business and financial acumen

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice
