A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join their team in Santa Monica, CA. This full-time role involves managing the entire lifecycle of employment law cases, from initial demand through trial. The attorney will conduct legal research, draft documents, and represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings.

Duties

• Evaluate new matters and advise on case viability.
• Draft demand letters, complaints, and statutory notices.
• Manage DFEH/CRD and EEOC charge filings and right-to-sue processes.
• Engage in pre-litigation and litigation negotiations.
• Develop early case strategy, including mediation timing.
• Manage a plaintiff-side docket across various employment law matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and trial briefs.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Communicate directly with clients and manage expectations.

Requirements

• California bar admission in good standing.
• 2+ years of employment law litigation experience.
• Experience drafting demand letters, complaints, and motions in California.
• Ability to manage a high-volume docket with competing deadlines.
• Strong legal writing skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Bar admission.

Skills

• Experience with FEHA, PAGA, or wage and hour cases.
• Negotiation experience with employers or in-house counsel.
• Deposition and hearing experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Farsi is a plus.
