Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Technology Specialist with a background in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a biotech-related field. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of patent prosecution experience and be registered before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. This role involves drafting patent applications, corresponding with patent offices, advising patent litigation teams, and interviewing inventors.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications for innovative clients, including descriptions and figures.
• Correspond with the patent office about pending patent applications.
• Advise patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific area of expertise.
• Interview inventors about new ideas.

Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a biotech-related field.
• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Registered before the U.S. Patent & Trademark office.

Education:

• PhD in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a related field.

Certifications:

• Registration before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting patent applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex scientific concepts.
• Familiarity with patent prosecution processes.
