A leading immigration law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to manage and oversee the preparation of responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs) related to family-based and humanitarian immigration applications. This role supports a high-volume practice and provides legal guidance to attorneys and non-attorney team members. The position is ideal for a dedicated immigration attorney passionate about supporting underserved immigrant communities through direct legal action.
Review and respond to USCIS-issued RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs for family-based and humanitarian immigration matters
Provide legal oversight and guidance to non-attorney team members handling RFE drafting
Analyze USCIS requests, identifying issues and developing comprehensive legal arguments
Edit, review, and finalize responses prepared by other legal staff for clarity, consistency, and accuracy
Deliver onboarding and continuous training for attorneys and support team members
Monitor legal trends and policy changes to guide internal practices and maintain compliance
Conduct quality assurance audits on written submissions by staff attorneys and non-attorneys
Address escalated client concerns and provide direct legal counsel when required
Collaborate with legal leadership to ensure alignment with case strategy and organizational goals
Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law with a focus on family- and humanitarian-based applications
Demonstrated experience handling:
VAWA
T-Visa
U-Visa
Medical Deferred Action
I-130 Petitions
Adjustment of Status
Previous work involving RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs strongly preferred
Ability to manage high caseloads while maintaining precision and quality
Experience in providing mentorship and legal support within a team environment
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state
Advanced legal writing, editing, and research skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to supervise, train, and mentor attorneys and non-attorney team members
Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-focused
Proficiency in interpreting immigration law and applying it to varied case types
Commitment to immigrant advocacy and client-centered service
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Familiarity with legal practice management or immigration case software is preferred
Remote flexibility with hybrid/in-office options
