The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning and estate/trust administration and demonstrate a high level of expertise in drafting complex documents and administering probate estates. This role requires excellent client relationship skills and the ability to lead in-person client meetings effectively.

Job Description:

Duties:

• Draft basic and sophisticated estate planning documents incorporating estate and income tax planning.
• Create irrevocable trusts and other advanced estate planning instruments.
• Administer probate estates, including preparing and submitting required filings with the Commissioner of Accounts.
• Lead in-person client meetings, demonstrating strong client relationship skills.
• Provide legal advice and guidance on estate planning and administration matters.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure seamless client service.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in estate planning and administration.

Requirements:

• 7 years of experience in estate planning and estate/trust administration.
• Proven ability to draft complex estate planning documents and irrevocable trusts.
• Experience in administering probate estates and handling required filings.
• Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Demonstrated client relationship skills with the ability to lead client meetings.
• 8-12 years of experience is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Skills:

• Expertise in estate planning and estate/trust administration.
• Proficiency in drafting sophisticated estate planning documents and irrevocable trusts.
• Strong understanding of estate and income tax planning.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
