Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a highly qualified Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Associate Attorney with 4 to 7 years of relevant experience to join its litigation team. This role is suited for candidates with deep expertise in insurance coverage issues and robust civil litigation capabilities. The position is open to candidates based in any of the firm’s offices across the U.S., including virtual/remote options.

Duties

• Handle complex litigation matters involving insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes

• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and conduct all phases of discovery

• Take and defend depositions, and appear in court as required

• Manage litigation dockets and case strategies independently

• Collaborate with partners and clients in high-stakes insurance matters

• Support business development and client relationship efforts

• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda or correspondence as needed

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

• Demonstrated expertise in professional liability, general liability, and directors & officers (D&O) policies

• Experience handling complex claims or high-exposure insurance litigation

• Familiarity with reinsurance matters is preferred

• Proven track record of handling discovery, depositions, motions, and court appearances

• Business development and client management experience are strong assets

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
