Job Overview:

The Oil and Gas Attorney will provide legal counsel and support to clients on various oil and gas-related matters, including exploration and production agreements, regulatory compliance, transactional issues, and litigation. The role involves drafting contracts, conducting legal research, advising clients on regulatory proceedings, and representing clients in litigation.

Duties:

• Provide legal advice and support on oil and gas matters, including exploration and production agreements, leases, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various oil and gas contracts, including joint operating agreements, farm-out agreements, and drilling contracts.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues impacting the oil and gas industry, including regulatory requirements and case law.
• Assist clients in regulatory proceedings before federal and state agencies.
• Advise clients on transactional matters, including due diligence and contract negotiation.
• Represent clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Stay updated on developments in oil and gas law and industry trends.
• Review real property documents and conduct title examinations.
• Draft mineral title opinions and identify potential title defects.
• Provide legal support on real estate transactions related to the energy sector.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Ohio Bar; admission to Pennsylvania and/or West Virginia Bar is a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on oil and gas law.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas regulatory frameworks and legal principles.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
