A law firm seeks a Trusts & Estates Associate for its Buffalo, NY office. The associate will focus on estate and trust administration and litigation, with some estate planning exposure.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of estates and trusts administration, including probate proceedings and fiduciary accountings.
• Represent clients in contested matters such as will and trust contests and fiduciary removal proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and settlement agreements.
• Assist with preparing estate planning documents, including wills and powers of attorney.
• Participate in court appearances and client meetings under supervision.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in trusts and estates law or commercial litigation.
• Strong communication, writing skills, and work ethic.
• Interest in fiduciary matters and estate planning.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York State.

Skills
