A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney based in Washington State for a remote position. The role involves defending complex litigation matters in healthcare, requiring travel to Seattle for in-person meetings and court appearances as needed.

Duties

• Independently manage and support a caseload of medical malpractice and healthcare-liability defense matters.
• Draft and argue motions, conduct and defend depositions, and manage discovery.
• Research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Develop case strategy with partners and communicate with clients and insurance representatives.
• Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Represent healthcare professionals in licensing and credentialing matters.
• Stay current on developments in medical malpractice and healthcare liability law.

Requirements

• Washington State bar license, active and in good standing.
• 2-5 years of civil litigation experience; medical malpractice or healthcare liability experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Confidence in taking and defending depositions and appearing in court.
• Collaborative, client-focused approach with sound judgment in a remote environment.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Washington State bar license.
