Duties

• Arbitrate labor disputes and defend civil suits.
• Advise and counsel school district administrators, depending on experience.
• Research and prepare memoranda on education and municipal issues.
• Render oral and written legal advice to district administrators and board members.
• Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, including witness preparation.
• Attend board/counsel meetings during daytime or evening hours as required.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey; New York admission is a plus.
• 0-2 years of legal experience as an attorney.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and prepare documents as requested.
• Strong attention to detail and proficiency in proofreading.
• Proficiency in Lexis, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and presentation skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
