A law firm seeks a Junior Litigation Attorney in Paramus, New Jersey. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior partners and gain comprehensive exposure to litigation processes while advocating for clients' interests.

Duties

• Handle a broad range of litigation matters, including municipal law, public entity defense, employment disputes, and tort claims.
• Assist in all phases of litigation, including research, drafting pleadings, and preparing motions.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing various databases to support case strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and discovery materials.
• Represent clients in depositions, court conferences, and hearings.
• Participate in client meetings and maintain effective communication throughout the litigation process.
• Engage in direct client interactions, including attendance at day and evening meetings.
• Support trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization.
• Assist with Title 59 New Jersey Tort Claims Act defense matters.
• Handle employment law cases, including disciplinary proceedings and discrimination matters.
• Support municipal law matters, including land use, redevelopment, and public entity liability issues.
• Manage discovery processes and respond to discovery requests.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Experience in New Jersey litigation.
• Familiarity with Title 59 Tort Claims Act matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in New Jersey (required).
• Current good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.

Skills

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal software.
• Experience with case management systems.
• Familiarity with e-discovery tools and platforms.
• Knowledge of legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
