Job Overview:

A respected law firm located in Oakland, CA is seeking a driven Legal Associate to join its pre-litigation team focused on personal injury cases. This role offers the chance to advocate for individuals navigating complex injury matters including catastrophic harm, traumatic brain injuries, and wrongful death before litigation. The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary legal team and develop nuanced strategies to support clients from intake through resolution.

Duties:

• Oversee a large volume of active pre-litigation personal injury cases

• Coordinate efforts with internal teams across case management, property damage, settlement negotiations, and lien resolution

• Serve as a key liaison to clients, maintaining ongoing communication regarding legal options and case progress

• Present and argue motions and other matters at hearings as necessary

• Apply a creative and client-centered approach to claim resolution

• Receive mentorship from supervising attorneys experienced in high-stakes injury claims

Requirements:

• Active license in good standing with the California State Bar

• Demonstrated ability to analyze legal issues with strategic insight

• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities

• Highly organized with attention to procedural detail and deadlines

• Collaborative mindset with a proactive work ethic

• Familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office 365

• Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in the State of California
