Senior Collaboration Platforms Architect

The candidate will work together with other architect-level roles in the IT department this person will help provide the necessary technical guidance and leadership to the firm’s overall IT strategy, including suggesting new or existing systems to solve business problems. Guide a team of technologists responsible for the health and stability of the SharePoint, Pulse and Jira environments and the implementation, documentation, deployment and support of out-of-the-box, 3rd party and custom solutions. Serve as the technical owner and subject-matter expert for the firm regarding SharePoint and SharePoint based solutions. Serve as the technical owner and subject-matter expert for the firm regarding Jira based solutions and Pulse. Oversee full SDLC of SharePoint, Jira and Pulse custom solutions and participate in/adhere to the firm’s release management and change management processes and procedures. In collaboration with business users and colleagues in the IS department plan for and manage installs, updates, and upgrades to portal and search systems and related software. Keep up to date on software releases (patches, upgrades, related products…), and news and industry information. Enforce and adhere to governance guidelines and procedures related to security, patching, development and overall stability of the portal systems and environments. In partnership with others in IT, guarantee the performance, integrity, security, and quality of the firm’s collaboration, portal and search infrastructure. Monitor and provide frequent status health checks of the environments. Monitor and report platform performance metrics, errors, inaccuracies and inefficiencies, making recommendations as needed. Oversee platform upgrades. Determine what aspects of platform upgrades can and should be outsourced. Work with IT and vendors to design, develop, implement, document and test changes to the platform. Oversee any necessary migration of content to new platforms, including the design and execution of a test plan to ensure that all content is migrated appropriately. Collaborate with IT staff in reporting and troubleshooting technical issues associated with the collaboration, portal and search-based applications. Monitor user support ticketing queues. Identify 3rd Party components to improve the offerings available on the collaboration, portal and search-based applications. Lead the 3rd party components implementation, support and training. Work with IT to develop the disaster recovery documentation for collaboration, portal and search-related systems and participate in disaster recovery tests and follow-ups to ensure successful application recovery. Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Management Information Systems or equivalent experience is required. Should have 5+ years SharePoint on premises administration, development and/or management experience. Should have 3+ years of experience as the principal resource for a large-scale SharePoint on premises deployment, including experience in governance – defining and sharing best practices, creating policies and robust operational processes. Should have 3+ years of experience with enterprise search solutions. Strong business acumen and 3+ years of experience solving real world business problems with technology solutions is required. Strong experience with Jira and Pulse on premises installations is desired. Prior experience using collaboration, portal and search systems to solve common business problems is required. Experience in a global professional service organization is a plus.
