A law firm seeks an experienced tax partner in Palo Alto, CA, to build and lead its tax capability within the corporate and transactional practice. This role offers a unique opportunity for a senior tax attorney to serve as the dedicated tax partner, playing a central role in a collaborative, partner-led environment.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal, state, and international tax matters in M&A, financings, joint ventures, restructurings, and other complex transactions.
• Provide tax structuring advice for venture capital and private equity deals, fund investments, and capital-raising activities.
• Counsel start-ups and emerging growth companies on tax-efficient entity formation, capitalization, and growth strategies.
• Advise family offices and high-net-worth individuals on investment structuring and tax-efficient planning.
• Collaborate with corporate and transactional partners to deliver business-focused legal advice.

Requirements

• Seasoned tax attorney with a deep transactional tax background, preferably 15+ years at a high-caliber practice.
• Experience advising on M&A, financings, private investments, and complex deal structures.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in serving as the anchor tax partner.
• Proven ability to work effectively with corporate and transactional partners.
• Impeccable client-facing skills and comfort serving as a trusted senior advisor.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of California.
