Senior Counsel, Environmental, Health and Safety
The candidate will be working directly with Environmental, Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance teams to provide sound and prompt legal service and advice. Regulatory compliance counseling to Environmental, Health & Safety teams on matters related to construction and operation of LNG and natural gas pipeline facilities. Interacting with regulatory agencies (including, but not limited to, PHMSA, FERC, EPA, LDEQ, TCEQ, and OSHA) with and/or on behalf of Environmental, Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance teams with respect to requests for information, agency inspections, and permitting and enforcement actions. Advising on a wide range of Environmental, Social, and Governance-related projects, including the annual Corporate Responsibility Report and other ESG programs. Conducting privileged audit assessments and/or supporting root cause investigations, as well as counseling teams on work product privilege in anticipation of litigation. Developing and overseeing preventive measures, particularly with respect to legal risks associated with Environmental, Health & Safety and Regulatory Compliance business practices and policies and providing guidance to management on same. Collaborating with Finance and Corporate teams on environmental considerations in project finance, due diligence, and general commercial and corporate matters. Supervising and directing outside counsel as appropriate.
