An established immigration law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to lead and manage responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIRs) for family-based and humanitarian immigration matters. This role serves as both a legal expert and internal resource for a growing legal team, offering support, mentorship, and quality assurance. The position is ideal for an attorney with strong writing, review, and supervisory skills who is passionate about immigration advocacy.
Draft and oversee responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs from USCIS
Support non-attorney team members with case-specific legal escalations and guidance
Review, edit, and provide feedback on drafted responses to ensure legal sufficiency
Identify legal trends and procedural shifts to maintain consistency and compliance
Train and onboard new legal staff including attorneys and document preparation personnel
Conduct quality audits of written responses and legal outputs
Provide direct client communication when necessary for legal advice or escalation resolution
Collaborate across departments to meet internal legal goals and client expectations
Minimum of 3 years' experience practicing immigration law, specifically in humanitarian and family-based cases
Substantive experience with applications such as:
VAWA
U-Visa
T-Visa
Medical Deferred Action
I-130 Petitions
Adjustment of Status
Strong familiarity with the USCIS adjudication process, including RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs
Demonstrated ability to supervise or train junior legal professionals and support staff
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction
Good standing with respective state bar authority
Excellent legal writing and document review skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to train, mentor, and supervise legal and support teams
Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical thinking
Adaptability in response to evolving immigration policy and procedures
Collaborative mindset and commitment to client advocacy
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Proficient in legal workflow platforms or immigration case management systems (preferred)
