Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to join its Affordable Housing practice as Of Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial real estate development with a strong focus on multifamily real estate acquisition, development, and finance. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and impactful transactions, including joint ventures and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financings, in a collaborative and sophisticated legal environment.

Duties:
Advise clients on all aspects of commercial real estate development transactions
Manage and structure acquisitions, financings, and dispositions of multifamily real estate assets
Handle joint venture and equity structuring for affordable housing projects
Draft and negotiate real estate-related agreements and transactional documents
Provide guidance on LIHTC and related financing structures
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver strategic legal solutions
Engage with developers, investors, and public agencies involved in affordable housing initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions
Demonstrated expertise in multifamily development, acquisition, and finance
Strong understanding of real estate deal structures and market practices
Experience working with joint venture equity and LIHTC transactions strongly preferred
Proven ability to manage complex transactions from start to finish
Exceptional interpersonal, drafting, and negotiation skills
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team setting
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice or ability to become admitted promptly
Skills:
Deep knowledge of real estate finance, affordable housing structures, and development
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating real estate and financing documents
Strong client communication and relationship management abilities
Strategic thinking with practical execution
Ability to juggle multiple high-value matters and deadlines effectively
