A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Public Entity Labor and Employment Practice Group in Pasadena, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and employment law, particularly within the public sector, and will demonstrate the ability to manage cases with minimal supervision.

Duties

• Handle labor and employment matters for public and private clients.
• Prepare cases for trial or arbitration, including participation in proceedings.
• Conduct depositions of percipient and expert witnesses.
• Develop and execute discovery plans.
• Draft motions for summary judgment and other legal documents.
• Support senior attorneys with legal advice and memorandums.
• Interface with clients to discuss legal and strategic issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in labor and employment law.
• Experience with public sector clients preferred.
• Knowledge of public sector labor laws and collective bargaining.
• Experience in administrative proceedings and employee benefit issues.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage cases with limited supervision.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of California.
