Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Boca Raton, FL, is seeking an accomplished Appellate Litigation Attorney with a strong background in plaintiff-side matters. This opportunity involves active engagement with appeals stemming from trial-level decisions, including crafting persuasive briefs, delivering oral arguments, and offering strategic litigation insights. The role also supports trial teams by providing in-court legal guidance and advising on key motions and post-trial proceedings. The ideal candidate will be an experienced legal writer with deep knowledge of Florida appellate procedure and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Duties:

• Manage a portfolio of 10–20 active appellate matters with support from an assigned paralegal

• Draft appellate briefs, legal memoranda, and procedural motions for state and federal courts

• Present oral arguments before Florida appellate courts

• Support trial teams by attending proceedings and offering real-time legal analysis

• Review and revise substantive motions and responses, including those related to summary judgment and post-judgment relief

• Conduct detailed legal research on novel and complex legal questions

• Coordinate litigation and appellate strategy in collaboration with trial counsel

• Stay abreast of evolving appellate precedents and procedural rules

• Provide mentorship to junior team members and legal staff

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience handling appeals, preferably on behalf of plaintiffs

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines

• Strong command of legal writing, research methodologies, and analytical reasoning

• Prior oral argument experience before appellate tribunals

• Ability to operate independently as well as within a collaborative legal team

• Professional integrity and a dedication to client-focused advocacy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a law school accredited by the ABA

Certifications:

• Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing
