Location:

• Washington, DC

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in life sciences and biotechnology-related fields

• Engage directly with inventors and clients on patent strategies

• Conduct prior art research and analysis

• Respond to USPTO Office Actions

• Advise on IP protection strategies for technologies involving AI and computational biology

• Collaborate with legal teams and technical experts on complex IP matters

• Prepare detailed technical writing, including patent documentation and client communications

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in patent prosecution

• Expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, or similar areas

• Excellent technical writing and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Willingness to work on-site in one of the specified office locations

• Transcripts and writing samples will be required during the application process

Education:

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, AI, or related discipline

Certifications:

• USPTO Registration required

• Attorney candidates must be licensed in the state corresponding to their preferred office location
