Duties

• Advise clients on comprehensive estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and charitable giving.
• Draft and review estate planning documents such as wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Handle probate and trust administration, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
• Represent clients in estate-related litigation and dispute resolution when necessary.
• Provide guidance on tax planning and asset protection strategies.
• Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop holistic client solutions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in estate, tax, and probate laws.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through clear communication and responsive service.
• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff to ensure excellence in client service and case management.

Requirements

• 14 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
• Proven track record of managing complex estate planning and administration matters.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws related to estates and trusts.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive client matters with confidentiality and empathy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Tennessee, in good standing.
• Additional estate planning or tax certifications are a plus.
