Legal Administrative Assistant
The candidate will support multiple attorneys/paralegals primarily in connection with patent opinion and prosecution and all phases of trademark protection and enforcement. Position responsibilities and duties will include electronic filings; client communication; billing; formatting, proofreading, and editing of contracts, spreadsheets, and other reports and transaction-related documents; docket management; travel arrangements; time entry; online research; and other legal support functions. We seek candidates who are self-directed, highly motivated, and have advanced computer skills. Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent word processing skills and intermediate-level use of Microsoft Office Suite, .pdf editing software, and related legal software, including attorney timekeeping software and electronic document management systems. Familiarity with basic online resources. Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to multi-task. Solid work history including 3-5 years supporting multiple attorneys/paralegals is preferred. Experience in patent, trademark and copyright clearance, prosecution, and transactional work is preferred. Experience with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is preferred. Overall knowledge and understanding of domestic and foreign procurement process for patents and trademarks is preferred. Ability to review and communicate docket to attorneys/paralegals, and effectively report to several professionals.
