Duties

• Manage a high-volume caseload of Defense Base Act claims from inception to resolution.
• Collaborate with a supervising shareholder to develop litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery and develop discovery plans.
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Develop litigation plans to achieve favorable client outcomes.
• Prepare client reports and provide ongoing updates.
• Communicate with clients, claims professionals, and court personnel.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other proceedings.
• Assist with trial preparation and other litigation activities.
• Maintain professionalism and client service standards.

Requirements

• 0-4 years of experience in litigation, workers' compensation, or related areas.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload collaboratively.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Ability to develop and execute litigation strategies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in depositions, mediations, or similar proceedings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and work ethic.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
