The candidate will help effectively solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action. Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed. Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases. Attend court proceedings as needed to ensure effective representation for clients. Collaborate with senior partners, multiple attorneys, and paralegals both in-person and virtual to effectively move files through the civil litigation process. Consult with potential clients to ascertain their needs and decide on the next steps. Experience with billing and keeping track of billable time on cases. Engage in matter management to ensure all cases move forward promptly. Set boundaries for clients when needed to ensure the firm is profitable and our attorneys are protected from potential liability. Confirm all work from the Firm is consistent and quality-reviewed for case law and written content/clarity. License to practice law in North Carolina; South Carolina a plus. Must have 3+ years of experience working in a law firm on family law issues, with sufficient experience to work independently on certain cases and retain new clients. An undergraduate degree with a legal background and a Juris Doctor degree is required. Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations. Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case. Organized with excellent attention to detail. Team-oriented, flexible, and willing to work across office locations when needed is a plus. Self-starter who will take the proactive initiative to complete priorities daily. Ability to creatively problem-solve and come up with workable solutions, figure things out on their own. Must be willing to travel locally within Union County and the surrounding area for mediations, depositions, and court
