Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A San Jose-based law firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Entry-Level Litigation Associate to support its growing consumer collections practice. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney to gain hands-on litigation experience, including courtroom appearances, regulatory compliance work, and legal drafting across multiple jurisdictions in California. Ideal for candidates interested in building foundational skills in civil litigation, this role includes direct mentorship from seasoned attorneys.

Duties:

• Handle legal matters related to debt collection across various stages of litigation

• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Appear in court for motion hearings, case management conferences, and trials

• Engage in client communication and ensure regulatory compliance

• Analyze case files and advise clients on legal strategy

• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff on active dockets

• Participate in ongoing training and development under senior legal supervision

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Eagerness to learn civil procedure and courtroom practice

• Capacity to work independently while adhering to firm protocols and deadlines

• Open to in-person work setting during standard business hours

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• California State Bar admission is required
