Duties

• Assist clients by understanding their needs and developing tailored legal strategies.
• Manage all aspects of divorce proceedings, including asset and real estate division.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Attend hearings and trials; design and execute litigation strategies.
• Lead negotiations and mediations; propose practical settlement pathways.
• Conduct and defend depositions; prepare clients and witnesses for testimony.
• Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to efficiently move cases through litigation.
• Supervise and mentor paralegals; review work product and provide coaching.
• Maintain organized and compliant client files.
• Set and manage client expectations, ensuring a positive experience.
• Contribute to process improvement and thought leadership in Maryland family law.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree required.
• Member in good standing with the ABA.
• Previous legal background preferred; experience in criminal justice is a plus.
• Licensed to practice law in MD; licensure in DC and VA is advantageous.
• Experience representing clients in hearings, trials, and mediation preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• 1-3 years of family law experience required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Valid Bar license in the State of MD.
