A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join its team in Olympia, WA. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and property division.
  • Lead and manage cases through litigation, including trial, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court, advocating for their best interests.
  • Manage an active caseload, ensuring timely communication and adherence to deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and provide expert opinions on complex family law issues.
  • Keep current on developments in family law, particularly within Washington State.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in family law, with a focus on trial work.
  • Active certification with the Washington State Bar.
  • In-depth knowledge of Washington State family law.
  • Proven experience in mediation, arbitration, and courtroom representation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases concurrently.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Law degree (J.D., LLM, or JSD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Washington State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction and negotiation.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with legal software and case management tools.
