A well-established law firm is seeking a Business Transactions/Tax Associate to join its firm-wide business transactions practice group in Tampa. The ideal candidate must have 2–4 years of tax law experience, with additional exposure to complex business transactions, securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures considered a plus. This role offers an opportunity to work on sophisticated legal matters in a collaborative, client-driven environment.

Duties

• Provide legal counsel on tax-related matters in business transactions
• Assist clients with corporate finance, securities offerings, and joint ventures
• Conduct research and analysis on complex tax laws and regulations
• Draft and review contracts, tax opinions, and other transaction-related documents
• Advise clients on tax structuring and compliance strategies
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop effective tax planning solutions

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in tax law
• Exposure to complex business transactions, corporate finance, and securities (preferred)
• Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Larger law firm experience preferred, but strong candidates from major markets seeking to relocate to Tampa will be considered

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• LL.M. in Taxation (required)

Certifications

• Admission to the Florida State Bar (preferred)
