Job Title: Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is looking for a highly skilled Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, from depositions to appearances before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). The firm offers a dynamic work environment where legal professionals handle complex cases, collaborate with clients, and contribute to strategic case resolutions.

Duties:

• Manage workers' compensation litigation, including depositions and WCAB appearances.
• Assume responsibility for cases of varying complexity, ensuring their smooth progression.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients to provide status updates and legal guidance.
• Develop strategies to achieve efficient and favorable case resolutions.
• Negotiate settlements for cases-in-chief as well as liens.
• Draft pleadings, reports, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions of applicants and physicians.

Requirements:

• Experience in workers' compensation law, ideally with a defense focus.
• Familiarity with WCAB procedures and California Workers’ Compensation laws.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• Experience defending S&W, 132a, and/or subrogation claims is highly preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar License.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience handling complex workers' compensation claims.
• Proficiency in drafting legal pleadings and reports.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and effectively.
• Experience in depositions and legal proceedings before the WCAB.
