Duties

• Represent clients at hearings, trials, conferences, and depositions before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)

• Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Manage a high-volume caseload and maintain accurate case notes

• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and stakeholders

• Conduct legal research related to California workers’ compensation law

• Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable outcomes

• Travel to WCAB locations as required for case hearings and proceedings

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience handling workers’ compensation cases or in a hearing representative capacity

• Solid understanding of California workers’ compensation law and WCAB procedures

• Familiarity with EAMS, e-filing, AME/PQME processes

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
