The attorney will guide clients through the litigation process and advocate at every stage, from pre-suit negotiation through trial, while collaborating with senior attorneys to achieve optimal outcomes.

Duties

• Conduct client interviews, evaluate potential claims, and advise on case viability.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and trial briefs.
• Oversee all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and mediators.
• Prepare witnesses for testimony and represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Coordinate with medical experts, investigators, and support staff to build strong case strategies.
• Monitor case budgets, deadlines, and billing to ensure efficient matter management.

Requirements

• 5 years of personal injury litigation experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Active membership in the New York State Bar, in good standing.
• Proven track record of successful negotiations and courtroom advocacy.
• Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong client service orientation and professional demeanor.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice in New York.
• Any additional trial or mediation certifications, if held.
