Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Miami, FL is actively seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its thriving legal team. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for an experienced immigration professional to lead complex cases, provide strategic legal counsel, and contribute to the firm’s mission of protecting the rights of immigrants. Ideal candidates are highly motivated, knowledgeable in removal defense and USCIS processes, and thrive in a collaborative legal environment.

Location:

  • Miami, Florida

Duties:

  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct detailed client consultations and develop tailored legal strategies

  • Prepare and review immigration applications and supporting documentation including I-589, I-130, I-485, waivers, and more

  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other filings for EOIR and USCIS matters

  • Conduct legal intakes at detention centers and provide onsite assessments

  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on relevant immigration issues

  • Guide clients and witnesses through court/USCIS proceedings and testimonies

  • Provide ongoing mentorship to junior attorneys and legal assistants

  • Maintain accurate case files and meet internal deadlines for filings and court appearances

  • Stay current on legal updates impacting immigration law and procedure

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of immigration law experience, including experience with detained clients and courtroom representation

  • Strong background in family-based immigration, humanitarian relief, citizenship, and EOIR litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse and high-volume caseload independently

  • Comfortable engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds and navigating sensitive legal matters

  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor and collaborate

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state

  • Member in good standing with a state bar (Florida preferred)

Skills:

  • Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and courtroom presentation skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • High-level interpersonal and client relationship management skills

  • Proficiency with immigration case management software preferred
