Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm located in Columbus, SC, is seeking an experienced and driven litigation attorney to handle a high-volume personal injury caseload. The ideal candidate brings substantial trial experience and a client-centered mindset to advocate for individuals pursuing compensation for injuries and losses. This position is designed for a legal professional capable of managing complex case matters independently, with a focus on delivering outstanding outcomes and maintaining a compassionate, professional client experience.

Duties:

• Conduct initial and ongoing consultations with clients to assess cases and build trust

• Prepare legal strategies and case files for all stages of litigation, including trial

• Represent clients in court proceedings and demonstrate 1st chair trial leadership

• Communicate with medical providers, insurance representatives, and third parties

• Analyze claim values and settlement opportunities

• Negotiate resolutions on behalf of clients to achieve favorable results

• Maintain consistent client contact and case updates throughout the legal process

• Supervise support staff and collaborate with legal team members

• Ensure timely filing and adherence to procedural deadlines

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on litigation experience

• Demonstrated 1st chair trial proficiency in personal injury or related practice areas

• Must hold an active membership in good standing with the South Carolina Bar

• Able to work independently and manage a caseload with minimal supervision

• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and client service

• Proactive mindset with a solution-oriented approach

• Spanish language proficiency is a plus

• Familiarity with claims evaluation and insurance negotiation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the South Carolina Bar in good standing
