Job Overview

An established San Diego-based law firm is seeking a versatile and self-motivated Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience across criminal, civil, and/or family law. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely as well as from a downtown San Diego office. The role provides significant autonomy and responsibility, making it ideal for an attorney who thrives in a dynamic and evolving environment. There is also potential for the right candidate to transition into a managerial position as the firm continues to grow.

Duties

• Conduct client intake and manage ongoing client relations

• Draft and file pleadings and other legal documents

• Represent clients at hearings across Southern California courts

• Assist the lead attorney with case strategy and firm operations

• Learn and adapt to various practice areas based on firm needs

• Participate in firm management responsibilities as the practice expands

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in civil, criminal, and/or family law

• Ability to travel to courts throughout Southern California

• Comfortable working independently and managing cases from start to finish

• Adaptable to a small-firm environment with fluctuating workloads

• Interest in long-term growth and a potential path to a leadership role

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing

Skills

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Effective time management and organizational abilities

• Client-focused with excellent interpersonal communication

• Ability to navigate and handle matters across multiple legal disciplines
