Legal Assistant
The candidate will provide effective case management for personal injury cases by providing legal services under the supervision of an attorney. Handle communication and interact with clients. Communication with insurance adjusters and defense attorneys to arrange depositions and other case related matters. Prepare and file complaints. Prepare and respond to discovery. Prepare settlement demands. Obtain police reports and photographs. Gather client medical records, medical reports, billing statements, x-ray’s, MRI’s, emergency room records, ambulance records, using a HIPPAA complaint release and/or subpoenas. Should have ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments in a fast environment. Must have 1+ year or more working in a plaintiff personal injury firm. Should have experience in legal assistance. Must have familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols. Should be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook Word, DocuSign and Dropbox. Knowledge of MerusCase is a plus. Bilingual preferred.
