Burlington School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer that seeks an applicant to fill our Hunt MS Girls Basketball B Head Coaching vacancy for the

2020/2021 school year. Successful candidates will demonstrate an energy and passion for athletics and working with student-athletes, strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of sport. Our goal is to have coaches who work to provide an educational environment fostering the attributes of individual improvement, fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit in pursuit of a common goal through safe and challenging practices while preparing and leading student-athletes in competition. Applicants must be able to develop a solid rapport with student-athletes, work cooperatively with the athletic program, provide positive leadership, and model the ideals of good sportsmanship. Successful candidates must also be available to ride the bus with student-athletes, or successfully organize carpools to and from games and events.

Application-screening process will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. We encourage candidates to promote their specialization, area of interest, and coaching philosophy in his or her application.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of coaching principles and technical aspects of sport is required.

Coaching experience is preferred, but not required.

After-school availability, some weekends required.

Completion of Criminal Background and Child Abuse/Neglect Registry Checks required.

Must meet certifications and training requirements of the Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA):

Concussion in Sports -- immediately upon hire (NFHS)

CPR/AED -- immediately upon hire

Sports First Aid -- within one year of hire (NFHS)

Fundamentals in Coaching -- within one year of hire (NFHS)
