Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate to join its office in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to engage in a sophisticated practice and take on significant roles in complex litigation processes. Candidates with 2-3 years of experience in areas such as general liability, professional liability, products liability, real estate, HOA/Condominium association disputes, privacy and cybersecurity, and class actions are encouraged to apply. Judicial clerkship experience is considered valuable.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Represent clients in mediation and draft discovery requests.
• Prepare for trials and assist during trial proceedings.

Requirements

• Experience with state and federal courts preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel for court appearances and other legal proceedings.
• Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on client service.
• Admission to the North Carolina state bar required; additional admissions in South Carolina, Georgia, or Virginia are a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
