Lateral Conflicts Attorney

Duties: The candidate works closely with lateral partner candidates, sponsoring partners, and the firm’s Recruiting Department to identify and obtain all information needed to perform conflict clearances. Reviews and analyzes conflict search results for partner hiring, associates, counsel, summer associates, and other positions. Identifies potential conflicts of interest and works extensively with Firm partners, the sponsoring partner, and the lateral partner candidate to resolve conflicts of interest. Prepares and distributes a conflicts analysis memorandum presenting all outstanding conflicts of interest for each lateral partner candidate. Organizes and tracks the progress of lateral partner candidates through the clearance process. Assists lateral partners with opening transferred new matters, clearing potential conflicts of interest related to transferred new matters, and lateral partner integration. Works with Conflicts & Ethics Attorneys in the clearance of new matters as needed. Drafts informed consent letters and engagement letters. Implements ethical screens and conflict alert notices. Assists in answering questions from attorneys and other Firm personnel related to conflicts of interest, the new business intake process, lateral conflicts clearance process, and Firm policies. Requests and reviews additional conflicts reports or updated conflicts reports. Tracks personal stats.
